Accessibility

Our commitment to making STEMBox.io accessible to everyone, including users of assistive technologies.

Our commitment

STEMBox.io aims to make STEM learning accessible to as many people as possible. We work to improve keyboard navigation, screen reader support, color contrast, and responsive design so that everyone can explore our content and tools.

What we do

  • Semantic HTML and ARIA where helpful for structure and meaning.
  • Keyboard focus management (e.g. modals, menus) and visible focus indicators.
  • Sufficient color contrast and avoid relying on color alone to convey information.
  • Descriptive labels and alt text for interactive elements and visuals.
  • Responsive layouts that work across screen sizes and zoom levels.
  • Clear, consistent navigation and headings to make content easier to scan.

Known limitations

Some interactive visualizations (e.g. canvas-based explorers, 3D plots) may be harder to use with certain assistive technologies. We provide text-based explanations and context where we can and continue to improve. Math is rendered with KaTeX; screen reader support depends on your setup and browser.

We audit and refine our patterns over time. If you run into barriers, please use the "Report issue" option on content pages so we can prioritize fixes.

Feedback

We welcome feedback on accessibility. Use the report feature on our pages or contact us via the details in the footer. We will do our best to address reported issues and incorporate improvements.
